Severe weather has caused commercial power outages, which has impacted the nbn® network in the Lower West, South West, South East Coastal and Central Wheat Belt regions of WA.

Due to ongoing extreme weather, access issues continue to pose health, safety and environmental risks to field technicians. Assessments and equipment repairs will continue in areas where safe access is available. nbn is prioritising generator deployments to parts of the nbn® network impacted by extended power outages and will dispatch technicians once it is safe to proceed.
The outage has so far affected 15903 nbn® services in the impacted geographical regions, across the following technology: Fibre to the Building, Fibre to the Node, Fibre to the Curb, Fibre to the Premise, Fixed Wireless, Hybrid Fibre Coaxial.

Optus has reported severe weather has caused widespread commercial power outages resulting in impact to services in Western Australia.
Optus is actively monitoring the severe weather event in WA that is impacting mobile voice services due to commercial power loss and suspected equipment damage. In the instance of an emergency, customers should still dial Triple Zero. Calls to Triple Zero on mobile networks during power outages should work if another carrier is available.
